Why Detox?

The body is created to daily cleanse itself from the constant bombarded exposure to toxins which comes from our environment and what we ingest. There are over 2 million synthetic substances that are known and imagine at least 25,000 more synthetic substances added each passing year.

Our bodies are especially designed through enzymatic pathways, to detox the body by continually breaking down and flushing out toxins. The toxins that we deal with can either come from without or within. The outward toxins that we face ranges from pesticides, microbes, inhalants, body products, foods, as well as drinks. The internal toxins can come from our normal cell daily activities.

With life stresses increased as well as environmental toxins from foods and drinks our natural body detox and cleansing can be decreased. Our vital organs that facilitate such a detox includes the liver, lungs, kidneys, colon, skin and lymphatic system. So, the best detox system must be able to support the body natural cleansing process to be effective.

When choosing a cleanse, I think that considering a more wholistic, natural, organic, herbal and raw process is best. This way you get nutrients that will boost enzymatic activities and nourish the body’s detox organs to get a more effective detox.  When considering the amount of exposure, we have on a daily basis, a detox program that is done three to four times a year, may be a good approach. This is so because it helps to eliminate the bloated, sluggish, stagnant type of feeling of increased toxins, while refreshing from the inside out.  And overall while increasing one’s quality of life.
